In a world that seems to be filled with more turmoil and trouble each day, it has become ever more important to know how to understand and respond to it. On a regular basis we see events unfold that anger, confuse or frighten us.
Having a solid grasp of what we see and hear in the news is a good start but we need more than that. All of that information doesn’t just settle in our minds fully formed. It is filtered by our worldview, by how we are programmed to interpret things.
Unfortunately, we are too often unaware of our worldview, or even that we have one, which consequently results in opinions and responses that are based on faulty thinking. There can be many reasons for this but the bottom line is that unless we consciously consider our worldview and work to develop it in a healthy manner, we will almost certainly continue to suffer for it.
The good news is you can definitely develop a worldview that is authentic and cogent and our goal here is to help you do just that. One needs not just facts but the ability to properly think about them. And by that we don’t mean we want you to have a particular opinion about a subject (although we might) but WHY you should.
This is a process, not an event. As you learn how to think about a topic, to consider factors from different angles, you should become more confirmed in a belief, because you genuinely know why, rather than by rote.
What we offer here is citation and commentary on the latest news, more in depth articles on a variety of important subjects and a growing body of resources to help you learn about any of those subjects specifically and about worldview in general.
So we welcome you and look forward to sharing in this exciting adventure of knowing what we think and why.
