Steady Stream of Stories About Bad Cops
We are not altogether anti-cop here but there are more than a few very serious issues regarding police officers and law enforcement in general. From the irony that cops have no duty to protect us, to the police state we now live in, to police brutality, those issues are more far-reaching than ever.
Here’s a good example of a source that issues an ongoing supply of stories on a regular basis. Even for those who don’t normally spend time on Twitter, it may be a valuable place to check out the latest. We offer one example below, but there are certainly others.
There is considerable variety of the type of story and the original source cited. They range from stealing to police brutality to planting evidence to false reports to police shootings to militarization, to name but a few. These stories come from all over: Lehigh Township PA; New Hanover County, North Carolina; Chicago; New York City; Chattanooga, TN; Fort Pierce, FL ad infinitum. After pistol-whipping an apparently innocent victim, an off-duty cop pointed his weapon at the man, stole his cash and phone and then whipped him across the face with his duty weapon. Teasers of News Reports
Following are some teasers to give you an idea of what to expect.
Chicago Cops Drag, Punch and Tase Student
Common fears may be that students are at risk from another violent student or some crazy outsider coming onto campus. Sadly, it’s the cops themselves that may need watching. Also sadly, this is by no means a unique incident. There is video footage from not one, but two, separate cameras that reveal the way cops attack a 16 year old girl.
NYPD Cop Pistol-Whips Man
As if that isn’t bad enough, the cop added insult to injury. After pistol-whipping an apparently innocent victim, an off-duty cop pointed his weapon at the man, stole his cash and phone and then whipped him across the face with his duty weapon. Oh, he also stole the guy’s pants.
Emergency is no Excuse
You are very pregnant, as in due next month. You have a 3 year old son who is about to pee his pants, literally. You make it to a gas station but not into the bathroom. The little boy finds desperate relief in the parking lot while you try to shield him from onlookers. Unfortunately, a sheriff’s deputy did see. You now face 60 days in jail and a $5,000 fine.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg. As the name of the account says, they actually post stories like this daily.
